NYCRAFT HYDROPLANE PLANS
Interested in getting into outboard racing? Have woodworking skills? Build your own outboard hydroplane from full size patterns, step by step instructions and construction photos. NyCraft plans are produced by Don Nyberg, a retired architect and long time boat racer. They are intended for competition through the American Powerboat Association (APBA) and similar racing organizations. Contact Don at nybergdj@comcast.net.
WHIPPET II
Whippet is designed for competition in APBA classes C Stock Hydro/OSY400/B Stock Hydro/20ss Hydro/300ss Hydro.
The original NyCraft won the nationals in Novice C Hydro (now replaced by 300ss hydro) and accomplished a number of wins and podium finishes in other classes.
In APBA Region 9, 2nd year racer Jeff Link, won several races in his part carbon fiber Whippet and was 2nd high point for the 2019 season in 300ss Hydro (despite missing three races).
Bottom width and weight can be modified to accommodate the weight of the driver, racing class intended and APBA minimum weight rules. Original boat weighed 122 lbs. Two new boats, using partial carbon fiber, came in at under 105 lbs, fully equipped.
Recent revisions also make this hydro even more competitive with the best factory hydros available.

JACK RABBIT
Jack Rabbit is designed for APBA classes A stock Hydro/AX Hydro/K Pro Hydro/200ss Mod Hydro/J Stock Hydro.
A new design, weight is under 90 lbs., fully equipped.
Recent plan revisions are expected to make this Hydro competitive with the best factory boats available.
